  7. 18Across and 19D were delightfully constructed. Typical Exa fare.

    Clues like 18A always add excitement to a puzzle. The involvement of real characters in fictional stories, with some humour added, is always a welcome relief. As a setter, I feel these not only test the creativity of the setter but also provide comic relief to a solver.

    Overall, the crossword was very appetising, except for 21D. Cheese and Jam with Wine?
