ReplyDeleteI agree with C'vasi-sir. I have been hearing or reading expressions like 'Did he have the bottle to take any action?' for many years.
ReplyDeleteLongman Dictionary of Contemporary English says:
BrE informal - courage to do something
dangerous or unpleasant (Example: I never thought she would have the bottle to do it!)
