  2. A clue from TOI Sunday CW2804 which reminded me of DD and a bandit:

16 David's father may appear before James (5)

  3. I was slow in getting 'fast'- 9D.

  4. I have spotted a "grid girl"!

Having to attend some afternoon sessions in today's 'lit for life', I was desperately looking for the time of the F1 race. Two papers proved unhelpful. The ToI gave me the info prominently. I am afraid I will have to miss live telecast of the motor race as it clashes with the other engagement.

  5. After ET, now it is the turn of BRA.
    BRA SPECIAL

  6. Rengaswamy:

You need to specify perhaps more clearly (I grant that you may have done so already) whether all of them end in -bra or whether the string may appear anywhere within the word.

  7. A rummy thing in today's paper. The main paper, which would have been printed yesterday night, contains a corrected version of last Sunday's crossie, mentioning that the one in the Magazine (which would have been printed some days back) is incorrect. Our previous experience of TH's attitude to CWs has been one of 'get it, print it and forget it'.

Does that mean that finally someone at The Hindu is paying more attention to the CW feature than we had experienced? If so, are we on our way to having a CW ed?

  8. CV, having sent in my entries to Rengaswamy, may I add that one of them has two BRAs in it. If a pair of trousers is one garment, is this to be called a pair of bras or a quartet of bras :-)

  9. @CV 11.44
BRA can appear anywhere in the word as a string

  10. I have already sent in all the answers except one - guess what!

  11. Kishore

Would you think that any of these admit of two answers?

  12. CV, 6 & 10 definitely allow multiple words from the same root and I suspect 9 may spawn quite a few, though I put in the first thing that came to my mind.

    But let me not BRAg.

  13. Rather BRAzen of you, Rengaswamy! ;-)

I am not upBRAiding you. You seem have got BRA on all our members' BRAins. Thanks for the cereBRAl exercise.

  15. Much as I searched, I could not get any more for 9 other than the one I had used. But I came across this peculiar name:

  19. Not too many comments on todays CW itself, there being more interesting pursuits it would seem!

Anyway I enjoyed today's offering, a lazy Sunday morning affair. Didn't even realise 7D was an anagram!

Interestingly 'STRAIGHT' in 13D appears in almost exactly the same position as last week. Had a sense of deja vu, esp with last week's solution just below
