Rather neat clues today from Arden...some tied up clues - subthemes but not able to make out a full theme.. Amethyst has a very nice surface :) So also the Insult clue :) Radii surface rather charming :) Polysaccharide quite well disguised in the anagram fodder. Vested Interest ...hmm partially telescopic but i would not have said vested is well disguised enough.. Yep the it in Facetious threw me off too :(

DeleteNice one from Arden. Found NW corner rather tough going. Things got complicated with my 14A fill as PEERS. Overall a satisfacory solve. Thanks, Arden.

Didn't attempt in the morning as I was watching the spelling bee. Wonderkids really to jointly win the finals!
ReplyDeleteThanks Arden, it was nice to crack almost all. Siberia was a hit in the dark. Google helped to confirm it.
What a miss- the Spelling Bee! Did not know about it. Read about Indian kids sweeping the Geo Bee in today's papers.
DeleteSee Akash's comment under yesterday's blog. He quotes the longest telescopic clue yet, an 18 letter telescope!
