  1. RAMADAN was fast approaching.

Under the bright NEON light Razack unFASTENed the TAFFETA bag in which he had hidden the stones.

Myriad thoughts ran in his mind...

    Have I OAFISHLY stolen?
Will my parents view this as a GRUESOME act outside the AMBIT of family norms?
I am neither a thief nor a BANDIT...
BECAUSE I took these in a spur of the moment should I return them?

    Did Razack return the stones?

    What happened next?

    1. Paddy, we all see TV soaps. What can come to an end in ten episodes drags on to ten solid years!
I am sure CGB will have an ace up his sleeves!

  3. MURALI + ST = muralist.

Too far -fetched ! Is Murali another name for Krishna the artist? Is it a dictionary word ? IFFY ,doubtful ,ok. A bit of convoluted word play. MAESTRI is a clever way to pluralise maestros. GRUESOME grew some . Nice homophobic clue.

Had a bit ofhead scratching today, but enjoyed. Thanks , Arden

    2. Muralidhar to be exact or Murali Krishna ref to that aspect of krishna, Murali refers to the flute only.

    3. Correct. Muralidhar(one who holds flute) is often shortened to Murali.

    4. One of my cousins was named Muralidhar but is called Murali by one and all. He was officially called Muralidhar Iyer and he abbreviated it to M. D. Iyer. We used to tease him as Monkey Donkey Iyer...

  6. Harry in the clue is personal name. In wordplay it is a verb meaning harass, worry, trouble which acts suitably as an snag ind.
