15a in the Quickie today is BRIGHT, almost at the same spot in the grid.

  2. Continuing from yesterday:

Dump the Italian in an Indian river and get some food(6)

Sandy and Suresh should have got it:

    MUESLI* (MUSI + EL)

    1. I thought of it, but the Italian should be IL not EL

  3. Kishore,
Did you mean 'Spanish' when you used 'Italian'?
    'the' in Spanish is EL
    'the' in Italian is IL

    1. Right, Rajan. Also there seems to be no proper Aind.

  4. Today's Guardian cryptic in the original stable has a brand-new setter. I see sexual imagery in Clue 1dn.

When "we hear" is in the middle which way does it go? I filled in as 'brighten' (heard as Brighton)

    1. With the homophone indicator appearing in the middle, the solution can go either way.

Until Sankalak drops in to clarify which one he meant or we see the solution tomorrow, both are right. I went with brighten too.

  6. The clue may work out this way: MUS(IL)I
    Swiss Musili is an appetizer.

  9. People saying they finish in 5 minutes. I cannot write that fast. It takes me 15 minutes on the cycle to finish the first 2 R's

  10. 19 Ac. "Brighten" is the solution. Though the homophone may work either way, with the commas in place, I think the clue is more suggestive of "brighten". But it is a matter of opinion.

In any case. I enjoy both Muesli, Tamil(?) Ushili and Marathi Paasv Usaal and Misal!!

I am missing out in the participation until Monday next. Grrh!!
