It is a literary term.

Suppose instead of saying 'latrine' or 'lavatory', you say 'rest room'?
Suppose instead of saying 'one died' you say 'one passed away'?
I don't see the connectin? Is the word there in the Chambers?

Before it's disclosed just run a letter run through in the mind for the letter between the first and the third - instead of X that you have rightly guessed.
