  1. Hi, do the old-timers remember the COME SEPTEMBER tune? I won't be surprised if the Colonel has already added a link here.

Due to pressure on time, could not complete the grid. Just tend to get lazy after 8-30 am. No patience.

SUSPECT, TARNISH, TRAVERSAL (return of the T-shirt!), FLAIR, SWEATED, UNSETTLED, AESOP, REFER, COHERE were good.

    29A Left PASTRIES half baked.

    1. Further to 8-30 missed mentioning ELITE. Also TATE on dual duty in two consecutive clues - TERMINATE and NOTATE. How couldn't I remember DANISH with PASTRIES? Me too saying 'Yummy', boss.

4D - I could not fit in RESISTANCE and got stuck.

    2. Mathematicians cannot forget Come September. For, apart from the signature theme song, Multiplication is the name of the game...

    3. Lyrics include this line for Buzzer:

When you see a gentleman bee round a lady bee buzzin'...

    4. That line boils down to 'beebee', most fittingly.

    5. Thanks for the thread. Got to see the faces of Rock Hudson and Gina Lollobrigida after a long time.

  2. In the clue for 1Ac, 'assumes' may have been more fitting than 'gets'.

  3. My COD - 12A - Whatever lies below this is mine (7) - PITHEAD [CD]

Remembered a magazine cover story - Karnataka is Mine - Bellary Reddys.

  4. A gentle breeze blowing softly across your face, a cup of hot tea ready to be drunk and an Arden crossword in your hand - What a wonderful way to begin a lovely Saturday morning.

Loved the puzzle today. Was at 19a before I managed to solve the first clue. In the end managed all. Needed the dictionary to verify passerine & tessera.

    Today's crossword was :

Can a slum lover be wonderful ? (10)

  5. passerine, tessara,Dirac were new to me. Like Richard says-can't wait to peep in.

    Venkatesh has a point.

Pithead was great. But so was Flair, Raita, Climb.
Well, the list seems to go on !

  6. High time Barbadkatte comes up with a full set of clues instead of giving us in bits & pieces. Why not give us the full bread when we find the crumbs so tasty!

    2. +1. BK has been showing all signs of being on the way to the elite panel.

Who knows, he could soon be roped in by The Hindu? I am sure someone from the paper is reading this.

Let us have the full bread and the butter as well!

    1. But coming out with such brilliant pieces is one thing. But the real challenge could be in putting them all together and fitting them into the grid. Yet, all the best, BK!

Arden has been very technically ( not only language wise but also electrical engineering wise by adding the word 'total'. As explained in the link given by Col. it is the total of resistance and reactance in an AC circuit. I enjoyed it.

  11. Double dose of Arden for me today as I have just done yesterday's as well. Loved them both. Think the answer that made me smile the most was "pithead". Can't wait for the next one!
