  1. Hi all - a happy Ganesh Chaturthi

A smooth offering from Sankalak, yet again. Many well-formed clues.

23D - A big spoon first brought to mind CHAMCHA, but it has seven letter and would not fit into the crossings.

  3. 2. SINCE THERE WILL BE NO PAPER TOMORROW AND ALSO BECAUSE OF THE SO CALLED BHARAT BUNDH A JUMBO SPECIAL WILL BE UPLOADED AT 7 AM TOMORROW. INSTRUCTIONS WILL BE THERE WITH THE CW.

A Jumbo is appropriate for this festival. A clue from Monday's TOI which printed the Sunday Xword, which was missed out on Sunday:

The plane might be a Jumbo (8)

Talking of planes, right now my son is J not because of my trip, but because I get to fly i the latest 747-8.

And that takes me to my date with the Museum of Fright at Boeing.

  4. Would it be proper to call a Jumbo crossword a black and white elephant?

  6. Today's TH has made the following announcement:

Well-known journalist and Panos South Asia executive director A S Paneerselvan will take over as The Hindu's Readers' Editor, effective September 20, 2012.

Will this mean the dawn of an era of a better-managed Crossword section? Maybe CV is the right person to comment on this.

    1. You are correct. CV is the person to ask about CW.

    2. No doubt CV is the person. But improvements in crossword section is far-fetched as CV has been working on it eternally and we have seen no improvements.

  7. Where will the special puzzles be posted? Looking forward to them.

Good thing I came by here today; I would have spent frantic moments refreshing my browser for a non-published puzzle tomorrow.
