    1. AD, as this an across clue 'on the outskirts of Guntur', would have been better as 'at' does not indicate the position.

Rajan, the original clue was 'Dog ate and danced with ecstasy on the outskirts of Guntur'. I am seeing the mistake now and it would have most likely occurred when creating the Acroslite version. My mistake. Apologies.

Everything was closed at that time. Just had a look at Jallianwala Bhag from the outside. Stole some time in between 2 days of Property Fair we are doing here.

  26. Techie question

I use Chrome. After having giving permission to a website to launch Javascript or engine every time that website is visited, how does one revoke it so that permission is given only when needed?

Maybe another question: how do I stop the permission-seeking box to pop up each time I visit this site when the page is still the one of two that opens.

  34. Off topic but of interest to CWD setters

I have tried Dowedo the Internet software that helps us to set crosswords. I would like to record something that I have noticed for the benefit of those who use it to submit CWDs to papers.

The clues exported from the sw often have high instances of words having run into each other.

I don't know but perhaps lines that run into two lines in the sw environment get bumped when exported.

It is advisable that users, after exporting the clues, put them in a word processor and after duly checking the edited file send it to publishers.

I would be interested to know from any Dowedo user on the process after we have set a CWD on the Internet using that sw.

Also: how is its grid bank developed? Are the blanks that we create automatically get into their collection? I know that we can store CWDs privately w/o submitting to the site for approval.

Anyone know what criteria they have for this approval? Nothing beyond ensuring no F-words are there?

If in the public domain, are the blanks of CWD saved to the bank automatically?

  43. Not a very comfortable solving today, what with everyone singing "" who let the dogs out ?" Not a great man for Great Danes and poodles and pugs, though currently putting up with a Bugby Puggie at home of my daughter !! Very bad memories of dogs loving and tugging at my trouser-tails and losing a M-I-L to a dog bite, though she was a great dog lover . If I talk too much, fear of being put in the dog-house by three other lovers here !! Call it a dog's life? Or Love me, love my dog?

However, the dog that got my goat was the absence of hyphens and split up of words as all indicators were one letter words ! ENGLISH SETTER and GREAT DANE aren't two separate words or at least hyphenated ? Again, I could have never got PULI which is a Tamil dog? An English word?

Time for the Bugby here to take ME for a walk !!! Have a great week-end (ed), ye-all !! (12 noon in NY !)
