SUPERMARKET was super clue. ENCHILADA seems to be a favourite dish with setters.
Did Chandela cook the dish at Khajuraho? ;-)
With what dressing?
DeleteI was living on ENCHILADA for many days during my visit to USA!
DeleteK 8:32 - Please don't take this amiss since you are an unadulterated veggie. English is a phunny language. When a chicken is stripped clean, it is addressed as 'dressed'...
DeleteI am no an unadulterated veggie. I am fishy :-)
DeleteWhat I was tilting at is that Enchilada-a la- Khajuraho would not have any dressing
19 Ideate — provided hot fluid inside (5,2) THINK UP {T{H}{INK} UP} Anno for 'TUP' not clear
ReplyDeleteProvided= put up = tup<
I missed that again

Delete12A : Doctor finds Ice-T clean (9) DISINFECT*
ReplyDeleteI was juggling with "Ice-T clean" for Doctor ! Then it struck me that 'doctor' is an anagram indicator !! Lo, the answer pops out immediately !!!
Quite an entertaining puzzle from Gridman. Missed out on 26A and 22D.
26A : Warrant Officer, with these, will get the distaff side (7) MENFOLK woMENFOLK
ReplyDeleteDistaff = WOMENFOLK. What's the indicator for removal of 'wo' ? THESE def ? Could someone pl clear my doubt ?
These is the defn. Warrant oddicer=w/o, as you know, being an air force chappie. So, wo with menfolk will get you womenfolk=distaff side
DeleteTyoo in above, not oddicer, but officer
DeleteThanks, Kishore.
DeleteArrey, Richard 'ji' - please don't make me so old!! Just 'Rita' is so much better!
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
So be it Your command, Rita.
DeleteAnd a happy weekend to you and family.
