    It is an odd clue! Going by previous clues of this type, odd alphabets are: G R V R?

    6 Down Plant is soft, is covered by rubber.
    Is it "PULSE" but cant understand the connection of rubber in the clue.

  5. I am not in a position to answer both the queries as I myself am at a loss for the answers.
    11A Could be SLICES also in which case 6D can be PULSES, still the connection with rubber is left unanswered
