    In MATTER (problem?) remove M (monsieur, Frenchman) and put in N (a point).

    But the clue as written seems to suggest that you remove N and put in M. What do other solvers think?

  3. I second you, Cvasi sir. I was pulling my hair yesterday night with the two leftovers - 1A and 26D. BEDSIDE MANNER didn't put me to bed. Btw, can someone explain the S in 3D please? I was intially relating Bob to R (Robert).

  4. Chaturvasi,
    26D Agreed
    @Arav
    I presume this is what the setter intends
    Bob = Dollar = $ = S

  5. No, Bob is a term for Shilling, the abbr. of which is S.
    And because this currency is no longer in use in the UK, more careful crossword setters would say Old Bob.

  6. Chaturvasi,
    Thanks for the correction, now that you mention it I remember Bob & Shilling.

  7. Thanks, Cvasi sir - while crossword setters are more careful on using Shillings, I'm being more prudent on spending my pounds and pennies :)
