ReplyDeleteIn Yesterday's crossword Ms Nita Jaggi has got her clues 8 down and 9 down interchanged and hence I guess nobody got the answers.
For the clue 8 Down Churn the cream covering the soft herb how is "soft" "b" as the answer to the clue is "crambe" ie cream and b

ReplyDeleteB (Black or Soft) & H (Hard) are grades in pencils to indicate degree of hardness etc. Normal pencils are HB (Hard Black). So I suppose B has come from there
