  1. 20A EMBED is a DD. The word also is used to refer to a assigning a journalist to travel with a military unit at wartime

  5. Hi all

    With a travel schedule today, I had wished everyone a happy Pongal / Makar Sankranti in advance yesterday. I repeat my greetings.

    Just back from a long-distance drive. Could complete about 80% of the c/w early this morning and then had to leave. Had a peek into the blog on my lappy on the way. Missed the fun of completing.

    I guess there is a holiday for newspapers today and hence, alas, no crossword tomorrow.

  6. Colonel

    If there is no newspaper tomorrow, you can still publish the page for some interesting interaction on a chosen subject. Can't think of so many people being jobless tomorrow.

  7. I shall post the Cryptic CW which came in the TOI last Sunday without a grid of course and shall whiten the answers so you will have to highlight it to see the answer. That way everyone will get something to do.

  9. Hi,

    I just started doing the Hindu crossword and discovered your site. For 23 Down, I got EGRESS but I can't figure out why. Could you explain?

    Thanks. Your site is a great resource.

  10. @Orko,
    This is how it has to be worked out

    23 - Going back topless or getting out (6) - (-r)EGRESS

    Going back = REGRESS
    topless = indication for deletion of the top of REGRESS which is (-r)
    or = connector
    getting out = Definition = (-r)EGRESS
