Hi,
ReplyDeleteAlways shakes me to find old ghosts peering out of the newspaper at me. Sadly, missed some faces.
Liked NAV A<-RR E, WA(-n)DER, O RANGE, E R R OR(-ft), WREN(-ch), S E RENE, BRA T, EL SALVADOR, ES S EX or E SS EX, BR (-m)UNCH, OBTRUS*IVE, BES(O)T,
16 - Chopper part has a break down alternative (5) - {ROT<-}{OR} Not sure of Anno
ReplyDeleteto ROT = to break down.
3 - Follow the dance step with regular ease in the east (5) - {CHA}{S}{E} Regular ease is e and s, how did NJ get onl s ?
ReplyDeleteIt would be regular ease read from the east, meaning right to left. It should be from the east and not in the east
Article on S & B II at the following link
ReplyDeleteCrossing their words
El Salvador is a central american republic so not sure what the reference to city was.
ReplyDeleteThe photo got edited to leave out the author and in the bargain Dr DS, my better half and self also got deleted!!
ReplyDelete28A and 3d paraphrase the same question, how e disappears.
ReplyDeleteIn 16d is 'break down'=ROT ?
Deepak (836), I was curious and about to inquire why some were missing.
ReplyDelete1D AND 15A capable of at least two annos each:
ReplyDeleteE'S S EX OR E SS EX
NAV<- A RR E OR NAV A <- RR E
Kishore, nice one there. Both seem to feet.
ReplyDeleteDeepak, 836, Is it newspaper policy that author's pix does not get printed or merely cropping. If it was cropping, normally one would expect both ends to get cropped like the limited fort of 23d. Maybe, the person involved decided to retain the more photogenic end ;-)
ReplyDeleteKishore,
ReplyDeleteI think that is the newspaper policy, as Catherine did mention that her photo should not be there. I told her to tell their 'fixing' department to edit her out, in the bargain all to the left of her got edited and so did Dr DS, Self and my better half.
Hi all
ReplyDeleteThe photo-cropping blues apart, I am happy that my efforts to rope in The Hindu staffer at the meet bore fruit. The previous day I visited their Bangalore office and met the assistant editor of the Metro Plus. I am grateful to both the ladies.
Sad, nonetheless...
ReplyDeleteRichard, are you referring to MAC ?
ReplyDeleteA special thanks to Richard for everything including arranging the press coverage inspite of their pressing engagements.
ReplyDeleteMy 846 comment... feet = fit.
ReplyDeleteKishore 09:05 Didn't get you. MAC, who?
ReplyDeleteRichard,
ReplyDeleteMAC is one of the two ladies you referred to in your 9:03 post
Bingo, Kishore!
ReplyDeleteEl Salvador is the country & San Salvador is its capital. Some mix up there.
ReplyDeleteLooks to be a normal fare today going by the less no.of adverse comments.Pointer for better things in future?
Refer my 8:36
ReplyDeleteBhargav also got the chop
And I thought CGB was a naan-vegetarian !
ReplyDeleteThe glaring missing object was the luxuriant moustache :-) and of course, the person attached to it in more than one way.
I guess he needs to practise detached attachment..
ReplyDeleteIn all fairness, most of the new faces are visible, though Gita Gopinath is missed.
ReplyDelete10:03 post was from me to Kishore. It was erroneously posted from my official ID.
ReplyDeleteGita, using defence language, I am not sure if he was "attached to a detachment" or detached from an attachment :-)
ReplyDeleteDDS, not forgetting the BOLD, ITALIC, UNDERLINED IN RED REMARK "NO".
