  1. Yet to do the THC, just got the paper.

In the meantime, I give you something that made me chuckle (from today's Telegraph)

14 Member of extended family and husband among brawnier lot getting drunk (7-2-3)

Most will put say the answer is an anagram. But some might even add &lit based on their individual experiences.

  2. After the song by a Coward, look at another wartime song (sung on the same tune as Colonel Bogey March, popularised by The Bridge on the River Kwai):

  3. Some decent clues. 8D is my COD

  4. 11 Wind up article giving lead (6) GALE NA<-

At the risk of sounding pedantic, how appropriate is it to use 'up' as a reversal indicator for an across clue ?

Quite a few good DDs though, 20D is my CoD

  7. Finer details have been neglected in several places.

This is why I like Sunday crosswords. They're very neat and consistent unlike the weekday puzzles.

9 A - The clue format here is Def providing WORDPLAY. Shouldn't it have been the other way?

16 A - `disturbance' is an inadequate anagrind in my opinion. It would make logical sense only when it's accompanied by a link like `of'. For ex: disturbance of *fodder*

21 A - Indirect anagram. Expecting the solver to replace mum with ma for getting the anagram fodder is unfair.

    26 A - Padding. `One can' is superfluous.

    12 D - Not a neat hidden clue.

17 D - Clue is in the format Def produced WORDPLAY. Again, it should have been the other way.

    18 D - `to' is intrusive.

22 D - Very bad clue. Expecting a solver to replace A with I is unfair. And not to mention, there's no indicator of any sort.

  8. Meghna has a cup of woes again.

I do not have a problem with 9A or 17D. The surface is smooth and leads to the answer.

Other than 22D and perhaps 21A the CW is of acceptable standard, IMO.

  9. Whoa! Such a large number of complaints! You do seem to be a reincarnation of Ximenes, Meghna. That was a compliment, by the way. I would suggest you be selective of TH setters and migrate to British crosswords in the meantime.
