ReplyDeleteIs it same as 'Sone'?
DeleteWiki says also spelt 'sone'.
DeleteI think so.
DeleteAnd Sone is more phoenetic
DeleteIt's a river that flows through the place where I am living presently in UP & merges into the Ganga after Varanasi
DeleteNeat crossword Sunnet!
ReplyDeleteDoubt regarding 19A - king left for knight or the other way around?
Or does it mean king is left behind by knight?
19 Cipher, a philosopher king left for knight (4) ZERO ZE(-n+r)RO
It seems that the ans should be ZENO.
DeleteThen def. is in the middle.
DeleteZero was the intended answer. As Sandhya Garu has pointed out, the clue needs to be rewritten. Perhaps 'brought in' instead of 'left' would have been appropriate
DeleteHigh quality stuff. Needed dictionary (to find synonyms) and wiki a lot, but still had a few gaps. No regrets about missing samosa- got food for the brain instead.
ReplyDelete14A- 'Wed' from? Moon day?
