Paul's uncle COLONEL Psmith's head was in a BIRL. He had to stop the music coming out of the SURROUND SOUND system.

The gin and lime CORDIAL mix on the table was emptied in one gulp.

PAUL. He had brought a minor BLEMISH to the family. Afterall they never expected the MOON from him.

His behavior after the ALARUMS AND EXCURSIONS the other day had been brought to the Colonel's notice by REVEREND Kumar, the Dean of the Institute.

"Paul ought to be disciplined and told to STAY PUT."

What happened next?

  2. This week many new setters have been introduced.
Avataar's clues are nice and have a deceptive simplicity.
Though I haven't solved even hallf the number of clues
I am curious to know the solution to "18 Dn. My face is cheerful" looking.
Here are my solutions to a few:

1 Ac. OBELISK = [Order of British Empire] OBE SILK
    24 Ac. METEOR = (Remore)*
    27 Ac. BIRL = BIRD- D + L
    20 Dn. NOMINAL = (N Omani L)*
    21 Dn. ISOGRAM Acrostic

    1. Sujatha, please indicate annotations correctly. I think I have mentioned it earlier also.

It's anagram of {CHARTS} over C from Cosmetics and Anagram of {CELL NO} over O from Orders

Answers as per what you have shown will be CHARTSC and CELLNOO
