    1. Brace is a couple or two of anything and 'R' is an abbreviation for for runs, like in

      Cricket scores. So, the solution should be 'Bracer' and not 'Braces'.

  8. Sunday Cryptic puzzles by Arden was full of challenging. I took 2 hrs 30 min. struggled for 17D, spooner (CORN BELT). learned new words, ALE COST, THRIP. Thanks to Arden as I spent good times with Arden's special.

  14. Some questions:
    - 15A: Cant see is HIDDEN? An example would be helpful. To me, HIDDEN ~ CANT BE SEEN
    - 2D: is "stop any" doing double duty?
    - 6D: Not sure why we need 2 anagram indicators (about and played).
    - 11D: Not sure how the def (Sinatra) is clued. Def is a bit loose for me.
    - 20D: "Lines of..." Of is out of place there...

    Other than these questions, fun grid. 13A my fav clue.
