    1. I guessed [after sending the puzzle] that there could be alternative for this clue.
What I have intended was different and would like to wait for sometime.

    4. Madam Gowri,
Greetings of the season to you.
Well, your comment vis-a-vis relying on cello-hello handsets has prompted me to go down the memory lane to my school days of 1950s when I used to regale touching the 'Touch Me Not' plants by the wayside bushes or in the parks of Bangalore to see the leaves fold up on a mere touch.
However, today at my age of 75 years young, I have not been smart enough to use a smartphone since the Samsung set seems to be allergic to my touches. Repeatedly, I have to run my fingers on the screen of the phone to operate unlike those ever eager 'Touch Me Not' plants.
All said and done, please relay your artistic Rangloii creations despite the 'curtains down' to this year's Pongal celebrations.
Probably, I may be right to say or term Rangoli as the only medium of decor for both indoor and outdoor occasions in the world.
      Take Care-n-Stay Safe...

  7. Delightful theme and crossword. Theme was obvious soon and it sped up solving. "Penny dropping" was not in my vocabulary, but could solve 6D and parse by reverse engineering.

I have doubt about "from" in 30A. is it redundant?

  9. Dear esteemed Koteswara Rao,
Kudos for multiple interlinking of the clues compiled by you in today's grid and also thank you for letting me learn a new word NIMROD (8-D) that I was unaware.
The clue for 23-D was truly a tricky one and had to wait till accessing this worthy blog site.
