      Bomb is certainly a device. Generally you come to specific from generic,but here it is the other way round. Still not incorrect.

    Looked difficult initially. Then things started falling in place gradually. Good exercise to start the day. Some very clever clues bringing a smile-

      +2. Clever clues. The south fell first and then slowly the north, for me. Even after getting the answer, had a bit of trouble with some annotations for eg Smell A Rat, Stetson, Veto & De-ice.

      I also drew a blank to start with. Filled ABOUT TURN for VOLTE FACE. But slowly things fell into place & finished in 40 mins.

    et cetera means ‘and so on’. In Latin, ceterus means ‘ other’, singular. ceteri is plural meaning others. et is and.

    Fantastic clues today and on this score kudos to Karaoke.
    I erred in my attempt to solve 22-A by contending the answer as ABOUT TURN and in the process lost the links to 14, 19 and 20 in the Down slots though I was certain abut 22-D being VETO.
