No 9718, Saturday 19 Dec 09, Nita Jaggi

On board the Sampark Kranti Express from Bangalore to Nagpur. Not adding any links and photo's cause as usual none of the charging points are working in the compartment, so much for our Indian Railways. Will check the blog again after I get to Nagpur tonight.

  1. 10A - IT is from the first letters of the words following 'reporting' (in this).

    32A - Presume it is DIDDLE - meaning to waste time

  2. Colonel,
    10A - initially Reporting In This --> RIT

    32A - Doddle

    4D - SC stands for 'Namely' -- derived from scilicet - seems to have originated from Latin.

  4. 18A A short probably for Avenue. In any case that is what NJ meant. a is shown as abbr. for road in the infamous long list of abbreviations which NJ uses

  8. @ Suresh

    Your response and my request to ignore the query appear to have crossed each other. Thanks, nevertheless.

    32 across - Sembhayya's answer 'Doddle' appears to be accurate. A Net search shows the meaning 'an easy task'. The clue appears to be a straight lift from there. Getting the answer 'doddle' was not an easy task for us, though.

  10. What is the def?
    Anger?
    Showing anger?
    If 'showing anger' is the def, the answer will have to be a word ending in -ing such as raging (just for example, ignoring clue enu)
    If 'anger' is the def, what is 'showing' doing?

  11. @Chaturvasi. Hey. don't look for such fineries. I you are angry you are red-eyed. That's enough for NJ

  12. See I got in a typo in my last comment. It should read 'If you are angry' not I you are angry

  13. Showing anger, I travel on an overnight flight

    Showing anger = RED
    I = EYE
    travel on an overnight flight = {RED}-{EYE}
