GRID
Have had this preconceived notion that the Sunday Hindu crossword is always tough. With some determination, managed to complete about 75% today. Some breakthrough ! Yet, can never resist the temptation of having a peek into this blog at 8-30 am sharp.
ReplyDelete2 down : Heard the word 'capsizal' as the noun form of 'capsize' for the first time. Oxford and Cambridge online dictionaries don't feature this word. Collins could be one of the few that have legitimized it. Looks like a recent entry - a pale and 'me-too' sort of imitation of 'refusal', 'referral' and others.
Many a time, I have come across 'disbursal' in print instead of 'disbursement'. Apparently, it was created on the lines of the similar-sounding 'dispersal'.

10A How does 'bed' equate with 'border'? The only clue which had me stumped
ReplyDeleteRichard, Unless you are an expert on literature and movies many clues in Sunday CW need googling.
