But I am not sure how rille refers to grid of paper..

  2. Encyclopaedia describes 'rille' as trenches or brooks on the surface of the moon. Is it after all 'brookish'?

  3. 11A - From Wikipedia "Quad paper is a common form of graph paper with a sparse grid printed in light blue or gray and right to the edge of the paper. This is often four squares to the inch for work not needing too much detail. It is sometimes referred to as quadrille paper". Will this help ?

  4. Yes, looks like 'quadrille' suits both meanings.

  5. Rather straighforward one today; anno discussion for quadrille interesting. And as always high percentage of anagrams, which I suppose is preferable to red herrings.
