BTW, a photo caption about solar electromagnetic radiation in today's paper refers to the "northeastern hemisphere" of the sun. 4 hs.s make for two suns...
There seem to be 'men' all over the place. From NAVAL UNIT yesterday to RAF men and soldiers etc today.
ReplyDeleteManna has no belief in anagram indicators and believes in E & OE(xpected)
ReplyDeleteI put in Blazer for 27A and got chewed up for the south east corner
ReplyDeleteAutos was another googly. Clean bowled by that.
ReplyDeleteStill dont understand 'autos'!
ReplyDeleteClick on the link and read the paragraph that appears in detail and you will find the word autos. I did not do a detailed reading so I do not know more than that.
DeleteSee the link over the word 'autos' in the main post.
DeleteThe gist is as under
In the Middle Ages sacred dramas were also called by other names, in Italy funzione, in Spain misterios or autos (acts).
Thank you Col. My doubt was after reading the link. The Spanish part stated by you clears it.
ReplyDeleteSame with me Suresh. But I missed the word !
ReplyDeleteMy comments on yesterday's crossword that could have gone unnoticed !!! Any comments?
ReplyDeleteFirst time, I'm seeing MUESLI in plural? OK,is it?
I'm not quite with the annotation of RESILIENCE
NAVAL KNOT or NAVAL UNIT reminded me of the good old RMDC crosswords where the clues could be: He stared at the ?ALL -- HALL or WALL!! We'll have to wait to see what Manna meant.
One of the worst crosswords I have come across ever!! UGH
.
SURESH:
It can't be CONVICTIVE but CONVICTION is right although how NATIONS is correct as opposed to NATIVES beats me.
We'll live through this for yet another day.

I am a newbie to CC, I was just wondering if 12 Across could be DERIVE
ReplyDeleteDEE is the name of a river and CID is detectives. So DECIDE fits. DERIVE does not fit for this reason
DeleteAnother wishy-washy compilation !!
ReplyDeleteManna mood me nahi hai kya? Ther3 is no Josh in this crossword. No need to wrack our brains.
Expect better ones as we go along.
