    Probably the Rover(')s(') refer to Land or Range rovers or dogs tied up in a garage ?

  3. Many clues in this crossword have problems. They vary: errors in spelling, punctuation, usage, wordplay and so on.

    I personally believe that giving annotated answers to the clues in a popular blog without questioning the quality of the work gives the crossword a status that it just does not deserve.

    I am making this comment in a full measure of responsibility.

    1. Could be 'frontal' or 'rear'.

    2. I actually first thought of putting in Right, rightly, rightful, but the enu did not fit.

      Dextrous is right handed (the side of the road they drive on in Paris), as against sinistrous, left handed.

  6. Agree with CV entirely. With so many new setters in The Hindu raising the bar Manna is the pits and does not deserve 6 or is it 7 CWs per cycle.

    His brilliance in some of the clues can be best used if he restricts the number of crosswords set by him

    I think the Anno may actually be

    District Attorney = DA
    has = Indicator for encapsulation
    a = A
    point = S
    for
    him = Definition = {D{A}{S}A}
