B, your illustration reminded me of the octupuses getting married. They went down the aisle arm in arm in arm in arm...

  3. Just thought I'd point out re: 7 Down- Benjamin Franklin, although he was a founding father of the USA, was never president. Many think he was, maybe due to his prominent appearance on the hundred dollar bill! Cheers....

    1. I thought the reference was to Franklin Roosevelt although it is conventional to use their surname more than first names.

    2. Nice one, Kishore. I only knew the case of my friend Jeevan, for whom I had coined G1.

  5. 14A and 15D are both easy clues, which have no place in a cryptic CW. But all THC compilers, bar none, use these to cut down on their cluing effort.

  7. In my opinion, after Manna & NJ departed 'old' setters are getting lengthier stint.
Also, few days back, GRIDMAN commented in 'ORKUT' THC editors are listening to us on spacing. Hope, they settle on one page too!

    1. Note = Record
on = Re (as in 'about' or 'concerning' or 'in reference to')
connection = cord (as in something that ties)
