ReplyDeletehi. could any of u please tell me how to change "unknown" to "gayathri"
ReplyDeleteNow we have the mantra to remember the name.:)
DeleteI am not an expert. But maybe you could try editing your name in the blogger profile.
does not get edited.
Delete16d is MAGIS (wise men) with IM (essentialy aIMs) around it.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mohun
DeleteIsn't MAGUS the singular and MAGI the plural? BTW The Magus is a good composition from Yanni.
DeleteYes Shyam. This is another error in the puzzle.
DeleteIn the Christmas tradition, the Magi is the collective name for the Three Wise Men, believed to be Kings from the East - namely Gaspar, Melchior and Balthazar - who came to visit Jesus at his birth. I have never heard of the singular form.
DeleteRemembered the short story 'The Gift of the Magi' by O Henry (aka William Sydney Porter). A must-read for married persons.
DeleteSingular form MAGUS is also used. Would recommend Wilbur Smith's series on Taita, the slave turned Magus: 'Warlock', 'The Quest' etc. Great stuff
DeleteIgreja Três Reis Magos (The Church of The 3 Wise Kings) can be found in Reis Magos, a village across the Mandovi, opposite Panaji. Igreja is the Portuguese word for Church, which becomes Igorje in Konkani and probably is the basis for the Hindi Girijaghar. Magos is earlier reported to have been used for Zoroaster.
DeleteWhat is the logic of 4d?
ReplyDeleteThanks to the missing 'I' in 10A this puzzle took an enormous amount of time
ReplyDelete'I' got lost in solving this clue!

DeleteI could not 14D. It was flowing over my head- not just in NW but in all directions!
ReplyDeleteIsn't T for model too obscure?
ReplyDeleteIt is fairly common in crosswords.
DeleteUNKNOWN: Some suggestions as alternatives to your monicker: Gaa Yatri: Sing, traveller?
ReplyDeleteor a GAY-yaathri? ( Pun not intended)
or a Joyous traveller?
or a Gone thrice?
haha. nice
DeleteCracked this today after considerable time, partly due to the errors or misprints. Also for 9A, I had TAIL(S), but NAIL seems more appropriate
ReplyDeleteI suffered a collapse of the northern grid. Filing in cordial for 6a and nice white spaces all along 10a didn't help.
ReplyDeleteI have a question regarding 1d. Why is overtime = e ?
Over all today's cross word was
You chose the interred exclamation. (4)
