I may come to Bangalore that weekend to meet some friends. if yes I am game. will let you know by Aug 5th.
ReplyDeleteI won't be able to make it :-(
Delete:( I will be in B'lore on the 14th and 15th, but not on the 12th! :(
ReplyDeleteI am new to THCC but fast becoming an addict. What is S&B?
ReplyDeleteS & B is a meeting or a gathering of Setters and Bloggers of this Blog.
DeleteI'll be at Abu Dhabi on 12th. Hence, will not be able to attend S&B meet.
ReplyDeleteCol, Unfortunately won't be able to travel to BLR next weekend as I am tied up with some work at that time :(
ReplyDeleteCol, pl put me as a Yes as of now
ReplyDeleteNope, am sorry, it's not working out. Have a club snooker tournament, and have matches on both 11th and 12th, can't reschedule. My apologies.
DeleteHello Sir,
ReplyDeleteI'm a newbie to the THC world. For the past six months, I've been regularly following the blog. Honestly, I've never completed a whole crossword, without the help of this blog.
I am a resident of Bangalore and would be privileged if I could attend this meet.
regards
Sujeet
Sujeet you are welcome to join. Keep watching this post for updates regarding the venue.
DeleteWeirdos are always welcome. After all you are one of us.
DeleteHave a function on 12th here, otherwise would have loved to attend as on earlier occasions.
ReplyDeleteWe will miss you.
DeleteI guess Kishore's place is close to Bannerghatta National Park. Those interested can plan a visit. Just a hint in advance.
ReplyDelete11 kms to BNP (I live equidistant from the denizens of the animal world and our politicians in Vidhan Soudha, though it is debatable that I may have mixed up the inhabitants and the locations). If we have the meet in the evening, then they need to got in the morning itself.
DeleteNo. Won't be able to come.
ReplyDeleteCopy of mail from Padmanabhan,
ReplyDeleteCol.,
This is Padmanabhan- just to confirm my participation in S & B 5 at Bangalore on 12th August. I have made my travel arrangements also. My cell phone no. is 98840 XXXXX. I will call you once I reach Bangalore.
Looking forward to meeting all of you.
Regards,
Padmanabhan
Please add P. Krishnamurthy of Bangalore. He attended the previous meet.
ReplyDeleteHe has confirmed his attendance.
Due to some urgent family commitments,
DeleteP. Krishnamurthy is unable to attend.
I am still being shown as a 'Yes' though I had modified my original post to say I can't make it. My apologies, and wish you all a good time
ReplyDeleteA request to all participants:
ReplyDeleteKindly mail me your meal preference: Vegetarian, Non-vegetarian or Egalitarian, to kishoremrao@hotmail.com, so that appropriate arrangements can be made.
Humanitarians will not be catered to.
DeleteKishore,
DeletePlease note we'll be going Dutch.
Noted. Single or Double? Hollandaise, anyone?
DeleteBrain-eat-arians will be, perhaps.
ReplyDeleteBheja fry will be served.
DeleteWith ref to the aforementioned fiends, how come none of their bitter halfs are attending?
ReplyDeleteWe always have cross words with them; when we attend the S & B meeting, we are actually taking a break from that routine.
ReplyDeleteYou mean you actually manage to get one {word} across to the them without having one {peg, quart, pint, litre, choose your capacity} down ?
DeleteMy bitter half would definitely have attended if the situation permitted.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the meticulous planning, Colonel & Kishore & Rishikesh! Looking forward to this.
ReplyDeleteManaged to unpack unbroken bottle of wine ;-), still solid chocolate.....
Kishore - vegetarian for me, please? I'm a Born-Again Snob, BTW.
ReplyDeleteWelcome to India.
DeleteApparent from the surname, of course. But you know how people tri-gress. I was veg (same reason as you), did eat NV long back (including zebra), but reverted back a decade back.
wow, the next time, meeting should be held in chennai. i will host it... i am hooked to THC and would love to meet like minded people
ReplyDeleteUnknown,
DeleteWhy don't you reveal who you really are?
Next meeting place : Unknown :-P just kidding .Col , please put me in to second column. enjoy
DeletePlace - Chennai, Host - Unknown, no kidding !!
DeleteDear Col. lol :-P
DeleteYou folks have a wonderful time ! Hope to make it to the Victor India meet.
ReplyDeleteI guess by Victor India you mean S&B VI...
ReplyDeleteIncidentally, has any of the ingenious mathemagicians in THCC found anything eerie or unique or mystical about the date of S&B V - 12-8-12? There is an infinity symbol turned vertical in the middle...
Good observation, Richard. And like 12th of any month this year, in this notation it is pronouncedly a palindrome as in Twelve, Eight, Twelve.
DeleteCalling all Carnivore attenders: Please let me know your choice by email to kishoremrao@hotmail.com, if not already informed, else, you will have to make do with ghas-phoosh.
ReplyDeleteIt is my humble guess that the majority will be non-non-veg crowd. To avoid offending anyone susceptibilities, I suggest we all be herbivores.
DeleteAnd don't forget the Dutch Touch. By the way, continuing the earlier subject, since butter is the main ingredient of Hollandaise, 'butter halves' could make up for the absence of 'bitter halves'...
.... as long as it's not 'Ghas lite'
DeleteAmong the persons who have intimated their preferences till now, there is a lone non-vegetarian...
DeleteRichard, I dont want to egg you on, or be a lying Dutchman, but I think Hollandaise has the yolk all over it
DeleteAnother advisory: Thick cotton or light woolen wear suggested in view of Bangalore temp.s dropping in the last few days. Also, if it gets wet/chilly, we can move from the roof to the ball-room downstairs.
ReplyDeletei dont really know how to include my name here. the comment section has "google account" as name.how do i include my name?? this is rocket science. :D
ReplyDeleteIt's no rocket science. Give me your name and I will enter it.
ReplyDeleteGayathri sreekanth, chennai
DeleteAaah, the unveiling of Incognito or Anamika, only time will tell...
ReplyDeletelol
DeleteA Na(a)m I('ll) k(now) a(tlast) !!
ReplyDeleteVeg for me, please! Thansk for the meticulous planning - Kishore, Colonel, Rishikesh!

ReplyDeleteDear Col:
Sorry, I have no plans to visit Bangalore this month-- probably next month, when I can meet some of you.Meanwhile, ye-all have a great Bloggers meet and I'd love to see the pics taken for posterity. Missing ye-all.
Lets see whether we can have a meet next in CBE.
Sapna and I fondly remember your visit to our place last year, Janmashtami day. One full year has gone by !!
ReplyDelete
Yes me too, especially all the goodies I got to eat.
DeleteThe pictures will come up on the THCC Families Blog.
Perseid showers have been scheduled for Sunday night, for those who like that sort of thing.
ReplyDeleteWill they land on the open terrace?
ReplyDeleteAlmost nil probability...
DeleteWhat happened Newbee? Are you the same person who just spoke to me a few minutes ago?
ReplyDeleteI am. I realised I needed to update my profile correctly first. In retrospect though, newbee would have been a better name to go by :). I am so looking forward to being at the meet tomorrow. Thank you for having me.
DeleteYou're welcome Khushnoor
ReplyDeleteK, you are welcome. K.
DeleteKhushi aur noor hamare beech hogi.
ReplyDeleteRemembered an old Rafi favourite: Rang aur noor ki baraat kishe pesh karoon, ye muraadon ki haseen raat kise pesh karoon...
DeleteGreat minds think alike. I too had it in mind. Great song from the movie 'Ghazal' set to music by Madan Mohan. Remembering the lead pair too - Sunil Dutt and Meena Kumari.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lyrics:
DeleteKon kehta hai ki chaahat pe kiseeka haq hai,
Tu jise chaahe, tere haath pe useeka haq hai.
Guys,
ReplyDeleteHave a good time today.
Thanks everyone, for a great time together.
ReplyDeleteThat was lovely! Thanks, Bangalore folks for hosting.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot guys and gals. It was worth making a trip all the way. Thanks, Deepak, for the blog which made it possible. Not forgetting the superb hospitality of Kishore, Gita, Kaushal and Kuldeep. It was nice meeting new friends like Khushnoor, Padmanabhan, Devanathan, and Sujeet, besides old friends
ReplyDeletelike Rishikesh, Bhargav, Shuchi and others.
It was a wonderful evening! Thanks everyone and especially Kishore & family for having us over.
ReplyDeleteIt definitely was an evening to remember
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear that you had a great evening . I missed it :-(
DeleteYe-guys ! don't make me feel envious for having missed the Evening. Post some pics of 'wish you were here'soon- at least I can enjoy the virtual presence ?
ReplyDeleteRaju,
