  2. Only a solitary Teacher's Day wish apart from Col.? Lat me add mine.
My Hats off to all my teachers here- too many to name.
"Not one to teach" says 13D- accidental, I suppose.
Really cryptic and enjoyable clues today. I was able to them in quick time without any outside help- except I missed spotting 7D as an anagram- so well disguised.
My COD- the most rational of all clues-26A.

  4. A friend of mine recently gifted Kindle to me. Having enjoyed books till now in the printed form, this was a whole new experience to me-not entirely unpleasant. Wonder of wonder, discovered two volumes of cryptic puzzles of Arden!
How to do them in kindle will be another discovery.

    1. Vasant: good for you ! I agree, reading a new book or even a moth-eaten or dog-eared , musty old paperbacks is much more inspiring than the Kindle, though it is a revolutionary advancement in the reading culture. How many crosswords are there in the two volumes of Arden? Very tempting to buy a kindle , though I have a few CDs of the TImes of London and others.

    3. I am happy someone else is sharing my love of books- I mean in the physical form. I have a couple of moth eaten ones (bought on the platform) but no less interesting or informatory.

    4. Both volumes contain 30 puzzles each. But they are all from the ones published in The Hindu. So might have solved most of them

    5. Paddy:I love the printed books and I have a sizeable collection. The smeel of pages, the yellowishness, the moth-eaten ones. To mark a passage on the book, to write your notes-what pleasure!
Kindle is a gizmo that might be useful while travelling or reading once a while. Nothing can beat the pleasure of reading in printed form

  7. BTW-
CV is one reason I am here today putting in my comments. He took the trouble of getting me registered here. Until then I was merely logging in and reading all comments and of course learning the ropes.

  9. I enjoyed the clue 2cac. Mathematics finding a place in crosswords is a delight and rarity. I appreciate the setter's precision in giving a whole number too (instead of two fractions).
