    2. Dictionary shows card as transitive verb too:
      "Demand identification from (a person), esp. as evidence of legal drinking age."

    SKulldugger : Snowbird is the lingo of addicts of drugs ? Where did you pick it from ? Any experience in your younger days ?

    I liked all the long words used in the frame and the spine of the grid ! Thanks for a deadlock-free gridlock with dreadlocks (again a trade-mark of hippies !)

  12. >> 9 Tiny bit of positivity in revolutionary statement rejecting fancy speech! (6) PROTON {Po...y}ROTON Anno pending

    Tiny bit of positivity = proton
    statement rejecting fancy speech = NO TO RP <-

    RP = Received Pronunciation

  13. Bhavan's explanation makes sense. Thank you. This clue and 24A were a bit too British for my taste. Seem to have been copied from an Angrez crossword. Otherwise, an enjoyable puzzle.
