  1. Hi everyone

Missed a few at the bottom level. Put in many by way of guess, which fitted in perfectly from all sides, but still clueless about anno.

SURE, UNFAITHFUL, STASIS, NICKEL, TAICHI, MULTIMEDIA, MUESLI, PURR, ESTRANGING, DROP, BUTLER and others were easy. Religion helps in getting answers like VIRGINIA. Got to know PHYSIC as a cathartic medicine.

    1. I had waited patiently for 899,999 to come up and posted the comment at 12:59:15 and it immediately showed 900,000.

Is it possible that the display could differ from PC to PC, from one service provider to another and one server to another? Strange is this cyberworld.

    2. No difference PC to PC, it must be the time in the clock

    3. Odd. Or am I Watson?

Richard posts as per the blog's clock at 12:59 and says he reached 900000. And you say the time is 13:04, preumeably as per the same blog clock.

    4. This is not with an intention to drag the argument nor to claim the 900,000 title, but to clarify.

As I posted, my PC time mentioned 12:59 and the post too shows 12:59 above, which was obviously the blog clock time also.

Just wondering how the blog could show two different times at a certain point of time, even if Col's PC is ahead by 4 minutes? Looks curious.

  7. Hoooorrrrraaaaay Col. Good show. Keep up the work.

Power off for 2 hrs. in Chennai from today and I missed the moment!

I have my theory about less participation on easy CW days and it has held up so far. Is there a way to keep track of entries on each day- experts?

  8. Suresh,

13D- Loser- appears in Hindu Quickie today as "someone who fails consistently". Duplication seems very common & frequent.

  15. What is the difference between the near-miss million counter and the one at the bottom which shows the number of visitors since ides of May 2010. Did we have 387764 visitors to the blog? Why these two counters and in what way they count and differ?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. For one the start dates are different. I do not know when the 9lakh counter began.

Another important difference is that the bottom counter does not get affected when you refresh the page, while the top one will count it as a visitor

    2. I checked now that even bottom counter changes when you refresh!
