  1. I completed before your solution appeared. Feeling great although I think it was a bit too easy.

  2. Yes,samosa day. But where is doc? Unusual to complete before the blog is up! Nevertheless interesting.
Matadora was new but a logical extension.

  3. Easy one.

At the risk of inviting comments and therefore eternally damaging the 'goodness' of today's crossword, I am presenting today's
    ABCDE

Perhaps shady, dry Autumn day to remember the Last Supper (6,8)

    Re your query at 5d.

    You've discovered a mistake.

G broke PLEASES as PLEASE S. However, in the clue as written ES comes from "begins enjoying song", leaving only PLEAS to be accounted for. "Kindly" gives PLEASE, not PLEA.

Thus, "enjoying" shouldn't have been in the clue.

Apologies for the error. This crossword was checked yet again prior to publication, but the slip-up went undetected.

  5. CV seems to have taken note that I had put on weight when we met in Chennai recently and is setting 15-20 minute crosswords.

    Thank you. CV

    2. I daresay I would prefer 'trio' to 'threesome'! Yes, was nice, as was the puzzle today. Didn't even notice the 5d glitch, the eye just passed over without registering.

    1. Good question. Corgi fitted in, so I filled it without thinking too much. From what I can gather Cor ( the exclamation ) is a corruption of God. Not sure if there is any other meaning for it. Eagerly waiting for others to pitch in to clarify

    2. my, cor, god, Christ, blimey, by George, gracious me, heck and a truck load of others are all used as an expression of surprise, so they are synonyms.

    3. Cor blimey is an exclamation that I have seen before. Thanks to Gridman & nizarperuvad I found out that it stands for "God blind me"
