    1. You are right to some extent, Ram. Mistigris was the last one in. I could complete the puzzle, of course, with some help from Net. :)

  6. Raju
You had given a brief forerunner here to your article in the Open page of TH today on bindi.
    Well-written.
The other day I had sent a piece on GoI's clean-up campaign as it impacts on our home life. It was rather a satirical piece. I got a private note from the editor concerned that he liked it bit it didn't see the light of day.

    1. Thanks, CV. Thanks also to our dear Col who facilitates us in free expressions by '' ''tolerating'' our thoughts in this blog. This blog also enthuses us and other bloggers to become budding columnists.

One day, there can be a possibility of publishing these comments as a THCC blog Book. what say you, Col? Incidentally, my other pastime is to visit this blog at leisure and run through the archives to read past comments. Very interesting !

    2. Congrats, Raju Umamaheswar! I fully agree with every word of your article,"The sheer power of the dot". I think it was the cine director Balachander who introduced putting the dot on the bridge of the nose. I seethe in anger at his setting in such an unsightly trend. It is a pity to see even older women yielding to modernism! We who follow the centre forehead really need a sort of stout moral stamina to face all the snickering we get from the younger group. Lately, to my horror, the bare-forehead trend has strongly set in!!! I loathe to see it! Again the media is the culprit. Except jewellery and pattu sari ads all other ads show girls in crazy outfits with bare/nil adornment!!! I hate to see a female-whatever the age-without adornment! My views on the subject are strong(=violent) and saddens me beyond words to see a new generation of females -from pre KG age-emerging as bare forehead tots!

  7. No dot, no jewels, no flowers, no traditional dress- but hefty amounts spent in cosmetics and beauty parlour visits! Simply crazy!
