      Yoked is part of def. Its the beam the oxen are tied. Its the ref to oxen among farm animals.

      When I filled the grid it meant nothing, but turned horribly prophetic as the submission was delayed by several weeks. So in a sense I was the fly in the THC schedule ointment.

      Nothing at all Suresh. Some times I just fill in a phrase at the perimeter to narrow down the rest of the grid fills. Instead of starting with a completely blank grid which seems more daunting :)

      "Fly in the ointment" is the Nina. Letters in the first and last rows make the hidden message. Very clever.

    Can anyone write a clue for FLY IN THE OINTMENT (3,2,3,8) which can't go in any THC grid unless it is split in two slots - which is not permitted.

    Great CW and a good ending by CGB.
    Took a while to get the 'Six-footer'. A Tamil poem sent by DS earlier uses this pun- Poonaikku aaru call". One outward meaning 'Cat has six legs, the other the bee (Buzzer?) - the flower licker- has 6 legs.
    Thank you Buzzer. Enjoyed the quick solve, but was nescient about nescient.
