Everywhere else it is gender unspecific and hence why the discrimination here .? Actresses are referred to as actors ;so who not mistresses as misters ?
ReplyDeleteAgain, this American system of referring to every one by their surnames is not understandable. We have our feisty defense minister referred to as Sitaraman, which could be her father or husband’ s name, while her identity is known by her ngiven name, Nirmala. Why copy the Americans in everything .? Each male or female is given gender specific first names which should be referred to to dentifrice them.Or else , why give them a first name to be identified with ?
Its a relic of past. But oriental is more particular of using family name. But we also refer narendra as Modi, mostly. No!!
