      Clue seems a stretch. A composite anagram with a homophones makes it pretty indirect. And to compound it WP from def is not grammatical.
      Maybe something else is going on.

    SHEBANG. Also means a drinking establishment. This word often features in cryptic crossword with that meaning. This is the first time I have come across its other meaning. Jing bang lot , shebang !
