Film reporter's diary
ReplyDeleteThe outdoor UNIT of the film crew was all set to shoot a SONG and DANCE sequence at AGRA. The heroine's role was to be ENACTED by a BALINESE ACTRESS. The art director had put up a set of a South American CARNIVAL, with a PARADE of FLOATS, resembling the ARGO, atop one of which the heroine was to dance the samba, of course with hardly any COSTUME, other than an elaborate ALPACA fur hat and an IGUANA skin thong. The MUSIC director, JERRY CANute, was a KING in composing item numbers, thanks to the support LENT by a MANIAC drummer.
The actress had a hard time in keeping off the amorous advances of the MACHISMO hero, right from the time they DINEd the previous night. He had ordered CAVIAR hoping to impress her but she was attracted by the AROMA of steamed MOMOs. But being figure conscious, she asked the SUPPLIER for only a CARAFE of green tea. The director arrived in time to tear the hero away from the scene and prevented the IMPUGNing of the heroine's repute in order not to IMPERIL the progress of the shooting. She had to put on an extra layer of greasepaint to hide the lovebites from his INCISORs.
Did anyone get the topical theme?
ReplyDeleteI can spot a few: Carnival, music, costume, Parade, song, dance all woven together in the tale-piece!
DeleteKing Momo may not be familiar to some of you...
DeleteYou are not supposed to eat without his permission. I dined with one in 2017.
DeleteHistorical spot ans esp. AGRA and BALI as Col. and Trump visited the spot in same day...
DeleteCarnival theme?
ReplyDeleteYesterday Incognito had asked us to look out for something topical. Is it the carnival or is it Col. being a Balinese?
I too feel so.
DeleteYes sir, the Goan carnival is presently going on. The Balinese iguana is a coincidence
DeleteIguana is nicely done and I could not spot the CA.
DeleteTrue, Paddy. It took some time for me too. CA from CA to CA!
DeleteIguana kept me off for a long time since I could not parse it (though I had to fill in once the boy met the girl)
ReplyDeleteA rare CA from Incognito.
DeleteConsidering that Incognito used to be a CA in the distant past
DeleteIndeed a rare CA who by all accounts sets solvable pizzles
DeletePuzzles.
Delete@ Kishore 8:57: :-)
DeleteOnce a CA, always a CA! Have you heard what auditors do when they retire?
DeleteThey write an account of their life instead of other's accounts.
Any ideas?
Kishore for one is growing vegetable marrows and writing wonderful short stories in his blog.
DeleteOther CAs here:KKR, Suresh
Those interested are welcome to visit my blog at https://goencho.blogspot.com/ to read the stories and leave their comments, if any. The stories are usually less than 3 pages long, except for an illustrated novella, based in Goa, which is about 35 pages long and posted in 4 parts
Deletelet me read and ack. soon
DeleteThanks for the link to your stories Incognito. Enjoying them
DeleteOrder=OM, order of merit?
ReplyDeleteYes.
DeleteIn Tamilnadu in the past 'supplier' used to refer to the server in a restaurant and this is the sense it is used in my tale!
ReplyDeleteNice observation.
DeleteEven in AP, we used to call them so. Nowadays, the word is extinct and server means IT domain.
DeleteBy what designation, do we call them today?
but few of them calling as "bearer" I heard often in club \ Pub and some big hotels...
DeleteDr.meant
ReplyDelete'supplier',not server. In days past ( have not heard it in the City) waiters/ servers used to be called suppliers (now they have become caterers,of course in bulk)
