    1. Raju the limit is THREE per commenter. However as all these are already solved I'm letting it go.
Your Anno for 18 A needs to be rechecked.

    2. Why such a big gap between your answers?

      Delete
    3. I guess it is Ipad which has been giving him untold problems! Right, Rajugaru?

  19. 2 Main cuisines with right ingredients for sailors (9)
Ans has been given above by two solvers.
    But what's the correct anno?
Raju, as usual, has put down two components but is not clear how exactly the ans is derived.
    Is it SEA FARE(R)S?
If so is 'with' the container ind? Is it OK?
Does the clue as written leads to SEAFARESR, i.e., SEA FARES R?

Col. I thought I corrected and reposted the new answer ?

Amidst the skein of so many repeats, how can one make sure? Please excuse.

    2. KKR,
Or probably contained. Ingredients are contained,in a vessel say.

      Delete
    3. Raju, Col. did not ask you not to post repeats. All of us do that. But he pointed out that the limit is 3 since you had posted 4.

      Delete
    4. Ingredient also means walk(s) into/entering.
Also ingredient is an element contained within a larger combined form. So seafarer is the container of R. IMU. But puzzled by plural form.

A very good debut. A couple of feed backs.
a/an=I should be avoided like in 1A and 13A.
    2d ingredients as container indicator?
3d A straight clue-could have put some cryptic element into it.

  35. Copy pasted below is a post from Pradeep Raghunathan (On Saturday's post) He used to have run a blog on The Hindu Crossword from 2000 to 2006 and a Yahoo Group for THC. The name of the blog was the same as this one, only the word 'corner' was not there. What a coincidence. He bumped into the blog today and mailed me. CV used to comment on his blog back then.

Good to come back to THC after ages. Had not seen it either on the newspaper or the website, and does seem like a lot has changed now, but good to see that the one constant is Gridman (aka) Chaturvasi :). After all these years, feel rather rusty having a go at the puzzle (not that i was super good at it back then). Thanks for starting this blog and consistently and patiently running it for more than a decade now Col. Gopinath. Hats off to you! For the few years that we had the yahoogroup and later a blog in the early 2000s, it was not easy, but everything becomes relatively easy if it is a labour of love :).

  36. Pradeep, Nice to see you here. What a glorious time we had in your Yahoogroups. I remember a couple of other regulars too. I did a lot of explaining. Over these years, the members of that group have grown up, their families have grown up and maybe their responsibilities at office too.
