    1. Good solve. You should also indicate how and where P is placed.

  4. A superb offering. Normally I am able to solve Lightning CW's without any outside help or ref. So did I today but I had to work a little harder.
Several good clues-Confetti,Bourbon,Sculpture,Kennel,Splinter,Elbow to name a few.
Thank you Lightning for sharpening our faculties.

  6. My favourites today are confetti, Taiwan, retina and tabloid. In general, solving was easy.I fumbled with 2d, though nostalgia stared at my face, as I thought homesick must give nostalgic.

  7. To clue EPEE setters may resort to TEPEE but not always!
    I looked at my database.
1 Sword buried in a deep, eerie place (4)
2 Record the same note twice - it's sharp (4)
    3 Record the drug twice - it’s sharp (4)
4 At far end of lane, go for a weapon (4)
It seems I didn't know the word TEPEE. Not exactly!
5 Home of the brave? (5)
Having exposed all my clues for EPEE, I don't know how I would treat it the next time.
