    1. When in doubt, please check Chambers online dictionary. It is of great help.
      The following is from the dictionary I have:
      tat1 or tatt /tat/
      noun
      Pretentious odds and ends of little real value, eg in an antique shop
      Tawdry or shabby articles esp clothes
      A rag, esp an old one
