  1. A bank meeting resistance? Not often (6) R A RELY

    Usually in crossword construction we take A, then add B to get AB.

    Here take B and add it to A and get AB, not BA.

    R is from resistance.

    A is from A

    RELY is from bank (v.) as in "I can't bank on my secretary to do this job."

  2. @ 6 - Successful worker upset getting severance pay (6,9) – GOLDEN HANDSHAKE [CD]

    I think it is a Charade instead of CD.
    Golden = successful
    Hand = worker
    shake = upset

  3. @Chaturvasi,
    Though you have explained it, I am not convinced with the clue to get RARELY as the answer.

    @maddy
    Yes you are right
