5-Many also-ran get nearer- CLOSER
ReplyDeleteMany-C
Also-anagram
How do you explain er to get CLOSER
@Anon,
ReplyDeleteYou have not got it right
Many also-ran get nearer (6)
Many = C
also-ran = LOSER
get = connector
nearer = Definition = {C}{LOSER}

ReplyDelete23 - Trap captures New Delhi’s foremost robber (6) - BA{ND}IT?
ReplyDeleteIf someone argues that New Delhi's foremost cannot give ND and that we can derive only D from Delhi's foremost, there is no prob.
The anno can be rewritten as BA (N D)IT, saying new = gives N.
what do you mean by 'Growth of born mumbai leader'-Neem. I guess 'neem' is a plant or a medicinal herb.
ReplyDelete'Growth of born mumbai leader'
ReplyDelete@Anon,
These are cryptic crosswords
Growth = Definition
of = connector
born = NEE
Mumbai leader = M
Growth = Plant = {NEE}{M}
