  1. 5 - Car, all the rage, arrives (5,2) – {ROLLS} IN Anno for IN pending

In as is "It is an in-thing" or even "It is in" meaning it is fashionable to do so, it is a rage.

  3. As for the clues without solutions, I did not do this crossword beyond putting down the initial four solutions in the Orkut community. Am at a Virgilius crossword from today's Daily Telegraph.

  8. Ian,
You must be the one from Derek's website. Am I right?
    Nice to see you here.
As for today's Virgilius, I have just three-and-a-half answers yet to be filled - all in the bottom-left corner.

16d Girl, Irish, eating hot pasta (5,4)

This resolves itself as ANGEL HAIR

    ANGEL (H)A IR

    Girl, - ANGELA
    Irish, - IR
    eating - c/c ind
    hot - H
    pasta - def

    Worked out from given components.
    Phrase is new to me.
Chambers def is "pasta shaped in very thin strips."
