  3. Deepak, please ignore my suggestion in Orkut, as you seem to have overcome the blogger's tricks.

    3 - Associate of the French ignores the calm representative (5) – AGENT Anno pending

    A GENT(-le)

    18 - Pull off Jughead's pal outside verandah entrances (7) – {ArCHIE}{V}{E}

    I think VE comes from verandah, entrances being the first two alphabets of the word

  7. Its once again guess work, but :

    Want a furry friend for niece settled out in the capital of India (9) – {A}P{PET}{ENCEi*} Don’t know where the extra ‘P’ comes from

    Furry = soft = P ?

  9. Bingo, Bhavan. Reminds me of the line from The Shadow
    "Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men (or women)? The Shadow knows!"

    BTW liked a couple of things today":
    Reference to Forsythe P Jones in 18d
    Use of A follower in 17a to clue in B

  10. Bhavan 858, I remember statistics being defined as a blind man looking in a dark room for a black cat which is not there. You've got cool shades, dude, might as well close your eyes to emulate the above blind man, as any complaints anywhere are bound to fall on deaf ears.

  13. 2 Small tip of plugs (7) – {S}{TOPPLE}
    It should have been 'plug' in the clue as the solution STOPPLE (That which stops or closes the mouth of a vessel, a stopper) is in the singular.

  14. Kudos to Gopinaths who seem to be saying 'bring it on guys'.
    Looking at answers to 11,14,15 I feel like saying 'really nita jaggi?'

  15. @Deepak - presume the 'on' in 1 (Balaton) is from 'playing' in the word play. Any idea where the second 'a' comes from?
