  6. Can someone explain the anno for 27A

    unusual object = oddity
    nit = fool
    nameless fool = it

    but what about "oddy" and appeal?

      unnamed means without n.so it becomes oddy
      appeal =it
      has = insertion indicator

  7. I'm not a fan of 16A. A bit vague, I thought, despite getting the answer fairly quickly.

    And 9A is a bit of stretch, both figuratively and literally. ;-)
