On the whole it was natural that this puzzle was real complex but there was nothing imaginary or irrational.

ReplyDeleteI took this as a DD
Nice puzzle. I was getting numb and number...
I was unsure how to classify this clue but DD is a good fit.
Deletei find neyartha s clues difficult.i find gridman and sankalak to be far easier.
ReplyDeleteBTW, is Neyartha an anagram of Athreyan?? just wondering. :)
Athreyan - anagram of Neyartha - nice comment !
DeleteLalithaji, Your Kola(m)veri blog is excellent.
DeleteNew post by Shuchi today at CW unclued (link on left panel).
ReplyDeleteA complex number ( 'pun'ned by Kishore)!
ReplyDeleteHow does radio fit into 2D?
Radio is the homophone indicator
DeleteActually it is "on the radio".
DeleteWhen something is on the radio, you hear it.
Our auditors such as Suresh, Kishore and others do it all the time.
Thank you Col. & CV.
DeleteAnd if they have heard something, it must be of some falsification, I suppose.
ReplyDeleteA good auditor would hear what is not said.
DeleteI used to be an auditor with an auditory problem, so I gave up the profession...
DeleteRight. Now we do the talking and the judges do the hearing.
DeleteLoved 23D. For 13A spent some time figuring if mini idlis had made it to the English language and if so how to export it from New Zealand :)
ReplyDeleteMy take on today's crossword
Again grind corn in beef essence. (6)
Yes we want more and more
DeleteMINI IDLIS ! LOL.
ReplyDeleteBe assured that IDLI has figured in THC.
Gridman has had:
In all probability Enid likes South Indian breakfast dish (4)
Eleven, between them, have a great number of this dish (4)
I think others like Sankalak too have clued IDLI but I don't have a searchable dB for all THCs.
If any crossword enthusiast here thinks he or she can set a full-fledged 15x standard blocked crossword like the ones that usually appear in the paper and can sustain the supply at the frequency of one per month, please contact me.

be happy to
DeleteSo, is the roster being extended or is a regular taking leave? ;-)
DeleteAs for today's crossword: on the whole, preferable to and easier than yesterday's. (Not that those two conditions always go hand-in-hand.)
Kishore: On yesterday's plushy comment of yours plus 1, I'm nonplussed ! please unplus me.You were ne plus ultra !!
ReplyDelete+1 is used as a comment in support of the previous comment. So, in essence I was supporting the previous comment, i.e. increasing the number of votes for it by 1. Our friends here have used this quite frequently in the past.

ReplyDelete@ Raju,
ReplyDeleteAdvanced greetings for your birthday coming up this Sunday.
@ CV,
Sankalak had set this clue involving IDLI in 10467:
Popular breakfast item not good when not working (6) {IDLI}{NG}
Venkatesh: Thanks for your kind sentiments for my birthday on 5th Aug. You're the first one to greet me from the HCC. God bless you.
