    1. She is a well accomplished professional broadcaster herself. In the sixties and seventies, we looked forward to the daily special programme, Smt Vimala Jayaraman compered in Tamil, for South East Asia listeners (then-kizhakku aasia neyarkalukkana vishesha Tamizh oliparappu) on All India Radio very early in the mornings (?5.30 to 6.15 AM).
