    1. Hi thanks for the input. Your sentence looks like a substitution clue with A for T. At any rate, I would look at Gains specifically as a container indicator.
      As long as you are aware, Needs/Wants is a deletion ind, (which you are now) there is nothing technically wrong in the clue as it stands.
      When you need something, you don't have it. (Hence deletion)

    No tantra. No MANTRA!
    SS just waved his old Luftwaffe ID
    card.
    The cop immediately recognized it without need of a HEADLIGHT or a SPYGLASS. Because the cop himself was
    with the Luftwaffe. His TEAR DUCTS swelled.
    SS ELUDES a sticky situation AT ONE GO
    and the cop who till then RAN A TIGHT SHIP had failed in his mission...

    What happened next?
